On Saturday 22nd February from 11am to 2pm Bolton residents will be preparing themselves for a FREE fun filled family event being held at the Willows Centre, Bolton. The event is being organised by the European Union funded LIFE + Up and Forward Project ran by Recycle for Greater Manchester and Bolton Council.
Residents are being encouraged to bring families along to the event to participate in activities to encourage recycling and to engage with one another within the community. Activities will include; face painting, multicultural mask making using recycled objects and recycling games.
The event will also allow residents to find out more about recycling while enjoying the activities available, there will be a free activity book for children that has been produced through consultation with the local community and has been created around the ideas they have come up with. Free refreshments will also be provided for all attending.
The event is part of a wider European funded (LIFE+) campaign that aims to change the behaviour of residents throughout Greater Manchester on the way they recycle to encourage them to waste less and recycle more. Recycle for Greater Manchester are working across its districts to look for new and innovative ways of engaging with different communities. It is looking for local groups, community ambassadors and community leaders to spread the messages and encourage others to change their behaviour.
