On Wednesday 25th September the Holy Trinity area of Tameside will be getting a recycling makeover. The Big Tidy up event will involve a cleanup of the area, ensure everyone has the correct recycling facilities and educate residents about recycling.
Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority’s (GMWDA) LIFE+ team has been working in the community over the past 3 months to increase recycling rates as part of the European funded Life+ project Up and Forward.
Working alongside Tameside council officers the Life+ team has managed to gather a big team of volunteers from with local organisations, community groups and businesses who all want to work together to tackle the waste problem in the area. Pupils from Holy Trinity Community School will be also lending a hand helping to litterpick their community.
The Big Tidy up will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm and involve various activities such as litter picking, bin marking and help with your recycling.
Residents will also be able to order recycling bins and get their current ones cleaned.
If you would like to take part then please come down to Holy Trinity Community Centre on Dean Street on the day.
